Does anyone have experience with their pre-mix oil? I think its called Sport Action 2 and is used for all 2T race applications.

I am only interested in responses from those that use it or have used it in the past, no 'tyre kickers' please. Reference to bore /ring wear etc

Thanks

Neil

Neil it might be that you ask only for precise comments. I have not used Morris oils, but I have heard good comments about it.

Hi Neil,
I've used there RACE2 Pre-mix for all the time i raced a 250{Honda rs} about 5 years in all. No problems what so ever, allways got 2k miles out of my cranks, no piston/ring problems, would recommend it to anyone. I've now retired so i'm not "biging it up" for sponsorship!!!! Bare in mind that that was on a tuned LEADED FUELED bike, could'nt comment on its usefulness in an Unleaded set up.........
Hope this helps,
Paul

Hi Neil

I used Morris oils when I had the TZ, and I really liked it. The pistons always came out looking good and it mixed well. In fact it was my first choice.

Regards

Ian

I used it on an avgas TZ as well and found it really good, but I am talking back in 96/97.

Neil, I know you didn't want guess work and conjecture but..... Given the crank life issues many riders have been having the last couple of years with unleaded fuel I'd be very careful about running your TZ with any oil that hasn't been specifically designed for use with modern aggressive unleaded race fuel. (or even the likes of BP Ultimate 102, ask Mr Trout!!!)

I was speaking to Derek Huxley a couple of weeks ago and his opinion on the best oil for crank life is a castor based lubricant like Castrol M. The downside is cleaning the mess and I recon the powervalves in a late TZ with the cylindrical PV's would need stripping and cleaning between meetings, I check mine regularly but only remove & clean them a couple of times a season. I've been running Elf HTX976 since the bike was new and havn't had any problems anywhere, whenever I've stripped the engine everything has always had a nice covering of oil and in all the corners nice little puddles of blue oil.

Whatever oil you end up going for, USE PLENTY!!!

Good luck fella.
Let he who is without sin chuck the first stone.

Thanks Ross, I have always used shell racing x which I think was developed with unleaded fuels in GP's in the early 2000's . I have never had a problem with this however, its no longer going to be available from my supplier as they are moving to Morris.

I still have about 2 cases of shell to get through so no immediate worries!!!
